Eight more job types open to Myanmar and other NTS workers from September 2026

MOM is adding eight occupations in food services, social services and air transportation to the list of Work Permit jobs open to workers from non-traditional source countries, which include Myanmar.

From September 2026, MOM will add eight occupations in the Food Services, Social Services and Air Transportation sectors to the Non-Traditional Sources (NTS) Occupation List. Myanmar is one of the NTS countries, so these become new Work Permit roles Myanmar workers can be hired for in the Manufacturing and Services sectors. Every Work Permit holder employed under the NTS Occupation List must be paid a fixed monthly salary of at least $2,000. Employers are also limited by an 8% NTS sub-Dependency Ratio Ceiling, so places are capped. Check the full occupation list on the MOM website before you accept any job offer, and never pay an agent a fee to be placed in one of these roles.
