Flu cases rising in Singapore — vaccine advised for high-risk groups
Health authorities note rising flu cases (not more severe than usual) and recommend vaccination for seniors, young children and people with underlying conditions.
Singapore's Communicable Diseases Agency reported on 4 September 2026 an increase in flu cases, though infections are not more severe than usual. Vaccination is specifically recommended for seniors aged 65+, children 6 months to under 5 years, and people with underlying medical conditions. The 2026 seasonal flu vaccine is available at CHAS GP clinics, polyclinics and participating pharmacies (for eligible adults 18+). Work pass holders can also ask their clinic about getting vaccinated, but should check the cost first since government subsidies mainly apply to citizens and PRs.
