MOM announces new mental well-being programmes for migrant workers and their families
From November 2026 migrant domestic workers who are mothers can join an online long-distance parenting programme, and dormitory residents now have a community garden and parenting workshops for fathers.
MOM announced the initiatives on 11 October for World Mental Health Day. Uplifters Singapore will run a Long Distance Parenting Programme for migrant domestic workers who are mothers, starting November 2026; it runs online and is expected to reach more than 600 workers and 900 children over three years. For men living in dormitories, the Centre for Fathering runs parenting workshops together with HealthServe and The Salvation Army, and more than 80 fathers have taken part so far. MOM and NParks also opened a community garden at NESST Tukang Dormitory, where residents decide what to grow and share the harvest. If you want to join, ask your dormitory operator or contact the organisation running the programme.
