Myanmar Embassy: passport extension forms no longer accepted in person if your passport or pass has 3+ months left

If your Myanmar passport or your permit to stay in Singapore still has 3 months or more left, the embassy will not accept your extension form in person — do not make the trip yet.

Since 7 September 2026, the Myanmar Embassy in Singapore no longer accepts passport extension forms in person from people whose passport expiry date, or whose permit-to-stay expiry date, is 3 months or more away. The embassy says so many people were coming to submit forms that it caused unnecessary crowding and long waits. The notice is dated 4 September 2026 and is posted on the embassy's official website. Follow only the embassy's website (myanmarembassy.sg) and its official Telegram channel for updates; the embassy is at 15 St Martin's Drive, tel 6735 2035 for Myanmar citizens.
