More supermarkets now show price per kg or litre, making it easier to compare which pack is cheaper

From 1 October, price labels at several supermarkets also show the cost per kg or per litre, so you can compare brands and pack sizes.

Singapore's competition and consumer agency (CCS) said on 28 September that NTUC FairPrice, Sheng Siong, Prime Supermarket, Don Don Donki and RedMart join the unit pricing scheme from 1 October 2026, with Cold Storage and Giant following on 1 November. More items are covered, including flour, milk, butter, snacks, soups and sauces. Unit price means the price for the same amount, such as "$X per litre" or "$Y per kg", so a bigger pack is not always the better deal — check the unit price before you buy.
