Passport Renewal Checklist
Everything the Myanmar Embassy in Singapore asks for: how to get an appointment, what to bring, what it costs, and how the counter runs on the day.
Embassy of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar
Your country's mission in Singapore
Address: 15 St Martin's Drive, Singapore 257996
Phone: +65 6735 2035
Fees, opening hours and required documents change without notice. Always confirm on the mission's own website before you travel there.
Embassy — where and who to call
Tap the address for a map, or a number to call. The consular line is for Myanmar citizens; the visa line is for visa questions only.
Step 1 — Get an appointment on WhatsApp
The website booking system is suspended. Appointments are arranged only through the embassy's own WhatsApp numbers, split by which pass you hold.
- 1Message the number for your own pass type. Sending to the wrong one usually means no reply.
- 2Send photos of your documents for checking — the passport data page, and the front and back of your pass card.
- 3One appointment per phone number. To book for family from the same number, attach proof you are the same family.
- 4Do not send the same request twice. Extra messages can send you back to the end of the waiting list.
- 5Watch for the approved list published on the embassy website every Friday, and find your name on it. Your date is usually about two weeks after you message.
- 6Your date and time are fixed. Come on that date only — turning up on another day will not get you served.
Step 2 — What every applicant brings
Two copies, not one. The embassy rejects an application outright when an original is missing, and the officer can ask for more documents than are listed here.
- 1The application form for your own pass type, filled in and signed — 2 copies. There is a different form for PR, EP, S Pass, Student Pass, Dependent Pass / LTVP, Work Permit, domestic helper and seaman.
- 2One passport photo taken within the last 6 months: white background, ears visible, no glasses. Bring your own — the embassy does not take photos, though it will take another one there for the machine-readable passport.
- 3Your passport: the original, plus 2 copies of the data page and the observations / endorsement pages.
- 4Your Work Permit, S Pass, EP, Student Pass or Dependent Pass card: the original plus 2 copies. PR holders bring the card with the Re-Entry Permit (Form 7).
- 5Your Myanmar NRC (pink card): 2 copies.
- 6Your income tax receipt from the embassy — original and a copy, if you have one. Never paid before? Do the tax payment first (see below).
- 7Enough cash. The embassy takes cash only — no cards, no PayNow, no mobile payment of any kind.
Extra documents, depending on who you are
- Applying as a dependent: household list, birth certificate or marriage certificate (original + 2 copies), plus the passport and IC of the person you depend on (originals + copies).
- Student Pass holder: your student pass (original + copy) and a recommendation letter from your school.
- Seaman: your CDC (original + copy) and your Basic Safety Training certificate (the 4 tickets).
- PR: the Re-Entry Permit (Form 7), and be ready to show an IRAS or company letter if asked.
- Holding a PJ-type passport, or changing away from one: originals and copies of your Work Permit, S Pass, EP or PR card with Re-Entry Form 7.
- Myanmar woman married to a foreign national and applying as a dependent: the receipt for the S$500 return air-ticket deposit.
Step 3 — On the day
The counter opens in the morning for submissions and reopens in the afternoon for collection. Closed on weekends and public holidays.
- 15 St Martin's Drive, Singapore 257996. Nearest MRT: Napier (Thomson–East Coast Line). Leave extra time — the embassy is a walk from the station.
- Submit your application in the morning: Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 12.00 noon.
- Collect your finished passport in the afternoon: 3.00pm to 4.00pm.
- Bring cash. Cards and e-payment are not accepted for any consular service, including tax payment.
- There is no photo service at the embassy — have your photo taken before you go.
- Bring every original. Without them your application is rejected, and the consular officer may ask for documents beyond this list.
- Consular enquiry line for Myanmar citizens: +65 6735 2035, answered between 1pm and 3pm on working days.

Cash only. Fees are set by the embassy and can change — check the consular page before you go, and never pay a fee to anyone other than the embassy counter.
If you have never paid income tax at the embassy
Renewal asks for a tax receipt, so the tax payment often has to be done first. It is a separate, cash-only application at the same counter.
- The tax application form, downloaded from the embassy website and filled in.
- A copy of your passport data page (bring the original too).
- A copy of your Singapore pass card — Work Permit, S Pass, EP or PR card.
- A copy of your Myanmar NRC, plus any earlier tax receipts you have.
If your passport is lost
This is a different application, and it starts with a Singapore police report, not at the embassy.
- Make a Singapore police report first — online, or in person at a Neighbourhood Police Centre with your work pass — and bring the report with you.
- Two copies of the personal history form, and two recent white-background photos.
- Two copies each of the data page and the last endorsement page of the lost passport, plus your pass card (original + 2 copies).
- Two copies of your Myanmar NRC and two copies of your household list, front and back.
- Your tax receipt, original and copy, if you have one.
- Seaman: CDC (original + copy) and Basic Safety Training certificates (the 4 tickets).
- Married to a foreign national: the S$500 return air-ticket deposit receipt.
- Flying home soon? A Certificate of Identity must be applied for at least one week before departure.
Other consular services
Not a standard renewal? Each service has its own form and document list on the embassy site — download the form, then confirm the current list there before you go.
Newborn baby passport
Forms for both parents and the baby, plus birth and marriage certificates (original + 2 sets). S Pass and EP holders also need a company sponsor letter. A second application uses a different form — get it from the consular page.

The night before — pack this pile
- 1Two signed copies of the form for your own pass type.
- 2Two copies of the passport data page, observations pages, pass card (front and back) and Myanmar NRC.
- 3One recent white-background photo. The embassy will not take one for you.
- 4Enough cash for the fee. No cards, no PayNow.
- 5The original passport, pass card and any tax receipt. Missing originals mean a rejected application.
- 6Check that your name is on this week's approved list, and that you are going on that date only.
Check the embassy's own pages before you go
Requirements, forms for each pass type and the weekly appointment list all live on the embassy website, and it is the only source that is always current.
Checked against the Myanmar Embassy Singapore's own consular page and homepage in September 2026. Requirements, fees and appointment channels change without notice — confirm on the embassy website, or on the consular enquiry line, before your appointment.
